halloween is one of my least favorite holidays… i don’t like bloody stuff or getting scared or being out in the cold - more than once we’ve had halloween SNOW here in boulder - or staying up too late. (one year lucy got the barfing flu and she could not go trick or treating - i have to say i was so HAPPY to stay home and just hand out candy - she wasn’t feeling TOO bad. it WAS a little unnerving because i wasn’t sure if should let her rest on the sofa in case she threw up again, but other than that nagging concern it was the BEST halloween!) i DO like candy and i LOVE seeing my kids dressed up (as long as there is no blood or wounds or axes or spooky masks.) unfortunately, they don’t appreciate when i weigh in on their costumes anymore… PRAISE JESUS i have hank.
(toddler T as a tiger… i was pretty proud of my make up job!)
(baby lu as a ladybug)
(theo as harry potter in 2nd or 3rd grade)
(lucy as a cupcake in pre school)
(theo as james bond in 4th grade)
(lu as a cute, little giraffe - i did not do this make up…)
hank is very accommodating about halloween… he is game for anything i present (it may be hard to tell from his expression in these photos, but inside he is just delighted!) this year we are having trouble choosing between the pineapple and the rainbow. while i am generally not a huge fan of the color yellow, i am leaning toward the pineapple because his head will stay nice and warm when we are tromping around the neighborhood trick or treating.
(hank’s first halloween as a hotdog)
(hank’s second halloween as a rainbow unicorn)
(covid halloween we needed some comfort so hank went as a banana split… i LOVE banana splits!)
(what do you think? a pineapple or….)
(a rainbow?)
wishing you all a SAFE and very happy halloween! x0xx0x
